The Annual Average Temperature Spatial Interpolation Dataset for China since 1980 (yearly resolution) is derived from daily observational data collected at over 2,400 meteorological stations nationwide, processed through collation, calculation, and spatial interpolation techniques. Annual average temperatures are recorded in units of 0.1°C.

For temperature climatic element interpolation, Australia's ANUSPLIN software is employed. ANUSPLIN utilizes smooth spline functions for multivariate data analysis and interpolation—a methodology that approximates surfaces via functional fitting.
