China's Meteorological Background - Annual Average Precipitation Data

The China Meteorological Background Dataset is derived from meteorological data collected at 1,915 stations nationwide, processed through collation and quality control to establish a raw database containing multi-year monthly precipitation and monthly mean temperature records for each station.

Based on station data, the following annual metrics are computed:

Annual mean temperature (Ta) Annual precipitation (Pa) Accumulated temperature above 0°C (T(>0)) Accumulated temperature above 10°C (T(>10))

Using the inverse distance weighting (IDW) method, spatial interpolation is performed to generate a nationwide spatial distribution dataset with 500m × 500m resolution, encompassing:

Annual mean temperature (Ta) Annual precipitation (Pa) Accumulated temperature above 0°C (T(>0)) Accumulated temperature above 10°C (T(>10)) Moisture index (IM) calculated via the Thornthwaite method.
