1984 China Average Temperature Spatial Interpolation Dataset

The "China Annual Average Temperature Spatial Interpolation Dataset (1980-Present)" is generated from daily observational data collected at over 2,400 national meteorological stations across China. Through data collation, computation, and spatial interpolation processing, the dataset provides annual average temperature values with a unit resolution of 0.1°C. For interpolating climatic temperature variables, the Australian-developed ANUSPLIN interpolation software is employed. ANUSPLIN utilizes smooth spline functions to analyze and interpolate multivariate data—essentially a method of approximating surfaces using mathematical functions. This tool enables rigorous statistical analysis and data diagnostics, while also facilitating spatial distribution analysis to achieve accurate spatial interpolation (Hutchinson M F, 1998).
