The Annual Average Temperature Spatial Interpolation Dataset for China since 1980 is generated from daily observational data collected at over 2,400 meteorological stations nationwide, processed through collation, calculation, and spatial interpolation. Annual average temperatures are recorded in units of 0.1°C.

For the interpolation of temperature climatic elements, Australia's ANUSPLIN software is employed. ANUSPLIN is a tool that utilizes smooth spline functions for multivariate data analysis and interpolation—a method approximating surfaces through functional fitting. It enables robust statistical analysis, data diagnostics, and spatial distribution examination to achieve spatial interpolation capabilities (Hutchinson M F, 1998).
