Gibbs free energy online calculation tool

Free energy refers to the part of the internal energy that
can be converted into external work in a certain
thermodynamic process. Free energy is defined in physical
chemistry according to Helmholtz's constant free
energy F and Gibbs's constant pressure free energy G.

Gibbs free energy is a kind of free energy. Gibbs free energy
is also called Gibbs function, (Gibbs energy
or Gibbs function; also known as free enthalpy) is an important
parameter in thermodynamics, commonly used G, its definition is:

\(G = U − TS + pV = H − TS\)

Where U is the internal energy of the system, T is the temperature,
S is the entropy, p is the pressure,
V is the volume, and H is the enthalpy.

The differential form of Gibbs free energy is:

\(dG = − SdT + Vdp + μdN\)

Where μ is the chemical potential, that is, the average Gibbs free

energy of each particle is equal to
the chemical potential.

Usage example

Reactant A: SiN

Reactant B: Cl2

Reactant C: None

Product A: SiCl4

Product B: N2

Product C: None

Click "Calculate Gibbs free energy" and output the result.

Gibbs free energy results (kcal/mol): 17.244

Note

When there are only two chemical formulas for reactants and
products, select "None" in the third formula.
